Our Mission and Vision
Kind Leaders is a kid-founded and fueled nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for children, youth, and young adults to kindle kindness and lead with love.
Our mission is to cultivate compassionate leadership through service projects and training inspired by faith-based values that enhance social and emotional well-being and make a lasting impact.
We envision a world where kindness is the foundation of leadership, inspiring the next generation to lead with compassion, honesty, and purpose. We strive to create communities where young people are propelled through service and collaboration to make lasting positive change.
Inspired by the Starfish Story
As the first light of dawn illuminated the beach, a young child noticed someone walking along the shore, gently picking up starfish and tossing them back into the sea. Curious, the child approached and asked, “Why are you doing this?”
The man paused and explained, “These starfish are stranded. If they stay on the sand under the morning sun, they will die.”
The child looked at the vast expanse of the beach, dotted with countless starfish, and exclaimed, “But the beach stretches for miles, and there are so many! How can you possibly make a difference?"
Picking up another starfish and throwing it into the safety of the waves, he replied with a smile, “It made a difference to that one.”

We were born out of an 8-year-old’s belief in the Kindness Cure and admiration for great leaders like Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King Jr. Rebecca started with a kindness club at school and expanded to fundraising for causes like Operation Starfish®. With support from her mother, a lawyer and nonprofit executive, she incorporated Kind Leaders in 2024 to create opportunities for kids to lead .

Our Board of Directors includes leaders in medicine, law, and education, united by a commitment to child development, service, and compassionate leadership. To further its mission, Kind Leaders is building a Youth Leadership Council to support young voices and offer opportunities for the next generation to shape impactful initiatives.

We believe that every single person can make a difference and that small acts of kindness done with great love can make a significant impact. We also believe in tapping into starfish power! The starfish’s ability to regenerate itself reminds us of our resilience. Like the starfish, even amidst challenges, we can heal, grow, and continue making a positive difference.
